1993. Five years BG (before Google). Bill Clinton becomes president of the USA, Pete Sampras wins the first of seven Wimbledon Men’s Single’s titles, Schindlers List wins the Best Picture Oscar and the first version of what is to become Colleague Recruitment Software is developed by Arena Resources Ltd and transforms the business forever.

Few software companies, let alone recruitment software companies, can boast a near twenty year heritage of continuous development and improvement of its products. Colleague can.

When Arena Resources Ltd was acquired by Lorien PLC in 1996 Lorien’s management were so impressed with the software system that they persuaded Arena Resources Managing Director Will Minns to stay with Lorien and help them implement it across the group.

In 2002 Will Minns acquired the technology and set up Colleague Software Limited to provide integrated software solutions to the recruitment industry. Will thought that something as good as Colleague would be a big hit with recruiters hungry for ways to use technology to improve their efficiency and success. He was right.

Companies including Square One Resources Ltd, Networkers International plc, InterQuest Group plc, FDM Group & Advanced Resource Managers Ltd became early customers of Colleague Recruitment Software which has since grown to serve recruitment companies in 23 different countries around the world.

In 2003 Colleague proved its technical competence and expertise by becoming a Microsoft Certified Partner and in March 2006 they achieved Gold Partner status. Colleague continues to work with Microsoft at the highest level of cooperation ensuring that Colleague’s integration with Microsoft products is as robust and as seamless as possible.

In Microsoft’s recent customer satisfaction survey 100% of respondents said they would definitely recommend Colleague to a friend or associate and Colleague’s extraordinary client retention record is further proof that the product, and the support which comes with it, is second to none.

Will Minns and the team are currently developing Colleague Version 6 which, like every version before it, will arm recruiters, managers, finance heads and support staff with the latest technology to help them achieve their goals.
